Step into the warmth and ambience of The Velour Lounge for an evening of original music and truly unforgettable performances.

Chris Murphy is a highly regarded West Australian musician, best known as the frontman of the iconic band Murphy’s Lore, which he led from its formation in 1993 through to 2006. Over the years, Chris and the band played extensively across WA and nationally, sharing stages with legends like Jimmy Barnes and Daryl Braithwaite, and even touring internationally to Singapore. As a solo performer, Chris has built a reputation for captivating live shows using just his acoustic guitar, powerful vocals, and sharp sense of humourβ€”qualities that earned him a spot on Kevin Bloody Wilson’s 2004 UK/Ireland tour. National fame came in 2006 through his standout fourth-place finish on Australian Idol, particularly for his electrifying rendition of β€œEvie (Part 1).” Chris has continued performing and recording, including duet collaborations with Adam Brand and James Blundell, and national support slots for Creedence Clearwater Revisited. His career spans solo albums, tribute acts, and high-profile gigs, all while remaining grounded in family life with his wife Sherri and their three children. He also performs with his brothers in The Murphy Brothers, who released their album Thick As Thieves in 2013.
